Android’s Material Design: The big new thing regarding Android Lollipop is the fresh look, called Material. Animations are going to play a big part in the new design. Compared to iOS 8 the shadows are sill part of the Android UI because Lollipop will make much more use of layers, this allows developers to do all kinds of visual customisations.

The big change at the notifications bar is that they’re being integrated into the lock screen – a bit like iPhone – Google developed lock screen widgets which allows you to view events without unlocking the phone. Moreover, not only should the app stop relying on the hardware menu button – you should stop thinking about your activities using a “menu button” at all and don’t call it a menu *smile*.
Notice that the arrow pointing to the app list is still there. The new and real Windows Phone 8 Start Screen won’t show that anymore. Also while Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 UI allows three sizes of tiles my concept allows for 11! That’s a lot of sizes!

Another great resource for UX guidance which goes far in aiding developers design their Windows Phone apps, such as choosing what kind of pages for different kinds of jobs. You can find all the brilliant 192 pages here: Windows_Phone_Design.pdf
